Terry Lee Michael Lash Fine Art

Terry Lee was born and raised in Morgantown, West Virginia.  Early in her life she was prolific in drawing and painting.  Upon graduation, her sister, Suzie, gave her a professional Grumbacher Oil Painting Set.  Armed with dreams and well wishes, she moved to Washington, DC with her brother and his wife.  Terry Lee enrolled in the Corcoran School of Art part-time and worked full-time.  When her husband got out of the Army they moved first to St. Paul, MN and then to Sacramento, CA.  The next few years were busy raising the 4 boys and 2 foster-sons.  In 1971 she divorced and eventually moved to Azusa, CA near Los Angeles, CA. 

Terry Lee enrolled at Sierra Madre School of Art in San Dimas, CA in 1974 and it was here that her hopes and dreams surfaced again.  She participated in a joint class show in 1974 and had a solo show that Spring.  Several of her paintings are in corporate and private collections in California.

Terry Lee combines bright colors and focuses her own interpretation and concepts into the visual and mental conclusions of her paintings.

She recently has been "dabbling" in Modern Abstract and Impressionism.  She says "I think I am in love, I love this freedom of movement and the flow of the paints as they seem to just come together to create exactly what I'm feeling".

Terry Lee is a member of the Morgantown Art Association, Morgantown, WV, Monongalia Arts Center, Morgantown. WV, Women in the Arts, Washington, DC,  and Oil Painters of America.

Juried Shows:  Penn State Arts, Pittsburgh, PA., Morgantown Art Association, Morgantown, WV (numerous times, 1988 to present), Senior Arts, Morgantown, WV (numerous times, 1994 to present).

She has participated in Star City, Arts on the River, Morgantown, WV.  Arts on the Square, Uniontown, PA. Mon County Fair, Westover, WV.  Hazel Ruby McQuain, Arts on the Mon, Morgantown, WV.  Buckwheat Festival, Kingwood, WV (Fletcher Antique Shop).  Creative Arts Center, WVU, Morgantown, WV.

She took 1st Place and Best of Show for the Greene County Federation of Womens Club, Pittsburgh, PA. 1997.  1st Place and Favorite, WV State Fair, Westover, WV 1989.  Numerous others from 1985 to present.

Terry Lee is mostly self-taught but has taken numerous workshops.  She participated in a portrait workshop with David Weaver in 2005.

Her Association with the Morgantown Art Association has had her showing her paintings at Beneficial Financial, City Buildings, Sundale Rest Home.  Restaurants and numerous Doctor's Office.

Her paintings are included in numerous Private and Corporate Collections throughout the United States.

Terry Lee has taught classes for both young and old, for the past 9 years in her home.  She also taught at the Greene Academy in Carmichael, PA.  Her favorite subject to teach is Landscapes using the wet-on-wet technique.
